More information: Spock's Beard were formed in 1993 in Los Angeles by brothers Neal and Alan Morse. Neal (keyboards/vocals) and Alan (guitars) were joined by fellow musicians Nick D'Virgilio (drums), Dave Meros (bass), and keyboardist Ryo Okumoto. With a touring schedule that has covered much of Europe and the US over the years, they have played to their legions of fans at major prog festivals around the world. Their live shows have been well documented on DVDs and live CDs such as 2005’s Gluttons For Punishment, Spock’s Beard Live, recorded in Holland in 2008 and now, The X Tour - Live.
This 2 CD/DVD is a worthy addition to their discography. With fear of a disappearing Neal Morse now well in the rear view mirror, the band got on with it and Nick D'Virgilio, once again, stepped up and showed us all what a true multi-instrumentalist/vocalist can do at the helm, surrounded by the talent of Dave Meros, an incredibly complex, yet accessible, bassist, Alan Morse on blistering guitar, and Ryo Okumoto on keyboards.
It's a must-have for any prog or Spock's Beard fan.
