Again produced by legendary Tubular Bells producer Tom Newman, this 4th Sanctuary release features contributions from Mike Oldfield collaborator Les Penning (Ommadawn / In Dulci Jubilo), along with a stunning performance from the legendary drummer Simon Phillips (Toto / The Who).
“It was great to get back to the long form of the original Sanctuary albums, after diversifying slightly with The Ringmaster albums. Two 20-minute pieces of music, with a short final track, making up the classic album format of the 1970’s. It’s been fantastic to work with Tom Newman again as he brings so much to the table. He is all about dynamics and emotion and has really pushed me on this album. Everybody needs somebody to encourage them to go the extra mile. Les Penning, my partner in crime, again contributes some amazing recorder playing. The final piece of the jigsaw is the contribution from the amazing drummer Simon Phillips. I have to pinch myself to believe that I’m lucky enough to have him playing on the album.” (Rob Reed)
