More information: On August 6th 2017, fans flocked from around the world to celebrate the 70th birthday of The Enid's legendary founder, Robert John Godfrey, held in Union Chapel, one of London's most famous and hallowed live venues. The stained glass windows of the Chapel provided the perfect backdrop to the music.
The set list was chosen by Robert John Godfrey, and featured many of his favourite songs and instrumental compositions from The Enid's catalogue, spanning five decades; some of which had not been performed live in over thirty years.
Robert John Godfrey also treated his audience to a solo performance of his much-anticipated forthcoming album, HOMILY, from which he performed an excerpt during this show, and is included exclusively on this album.
Backed by the next generation of Enid musicians, this is the sound of a reinvigorated Robert John Godfrey. The trio of lead guitarist Jason Ducker, keyboardist Zachary Bullock and drummer Dominic Tofield play with great subtlety and dexterity throughout.
