More information: By the time Genesis brought the UK leg of their Duke Tour to a close in May 1980, Phil Collins had well and truly settled into his role as the band’s post-Peter Gabriel frontman. With Collins’ impassioned vocals having helped the group score their first UK Top 10 hit, in 1978, with 'Follow You, Follow Me', Genesis repeated the trick two years later with Duke’s lead single, 'Turn It On Again'.
A highlight of their two-night stand at London’s Lyceum Theatre, held across 6 and 7 May 1980, 'Turn It On Again' captures the group in all their pop-rock pomp at the start of the 80s – a decade that would see them evolve from Prog pioneers into one of the biggest bands in the world.
Reaching back into their art-rock past for the 'The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway' highlight 'In The Cage' and a crowd-pleasing rendition of 'I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe)', 'Ultimate Lyceum 1980 Broadcast' proves that whatever style of music Genesis picked, it made for a perfect fit.
