More information: ELP were torchbearers of the progressive rock sound who helped to broaden the audience for the genre from hundreds of thousands into tens of millions. One of rock's first super-groups and among the most commercially successful rock bands of the 1970s, they headlined stadium tours around the world and achieved global sales of over 40 million albums. Their first 7 album releases all made the U.K. albums chart top 10 and U.S. top 20.
ELP achieved two monumental hit singles with ‘Fanfare For The Common Man and ‘Lucky Man’, and the 21-minute long ‘Tarkus’ is among the top ten classic tracks in progressive rock history.
This is a comprehensive, career spanning 3 CD set featuring classic tracks from ELPs original albums: 1970-1998: ELP, Pictures At An Exhibition, Tarkus, Trilogy, Brain Salad Surgery, Welcome Back My Friends To The Show That Never Ends, Works Volume 1, Works Volume 2, Works Live, Love Beach, Live At Nassau Coliseum '78, Black Moon, In The Hot Seat, Live At The Royal Albert Hall 1993, Then & Now.
First 3 CD ELP ‘Best Of’ (previously 1 CD or 2 CD). The tracklist and artwork were approved by all 3 band members - Keith Emerson, Greg Lake and Carl Palmer, and the special ‘casebound book’ packaging gives this a special ‘Anthology feel’ and point of difference with previous ELP Best Of's.
