More information: The excellent debut solo CD from Agnieszka Swita called 'Sleepless'. Agnieszka is best known for her work with Clive Nolan on the Caamora, She, and Alchemy projects as well as Illuminae (with Ian Jones of Karnataka). Clive plays keyboards on this album, and also wrote the title track.
From the very first line the tone of Sleepless is set. It is an hour of rock delight featuring soaring, melodic, and powerful vocals of Agnieszka and her writing talents.
Her lyrical content dissects the fine line between darkness and light, life and death, solitude and hope, and combines them with crunchy guitars, ethereal orchestration and alluring vocals. The juxtaposition between the elaborate keyboard overtones and beautiful arrangement for strings hitting a brick wall of heavy guitars, driving drums and bombastic bass lines is the foundation in the overall construction of the album.
The songs Agnieszka delivers have individual style familiar to fans who loved her for her She performance.
Agnieszka says: "I have poured my heart and soul into the creation of this album. Everything I experienced fueled my desire to dig deep within myself and create the music that will tell stories both lyrically and musically. To listen to Sleepless is to know the essence of who I am."
The line up for Sleepless presents top British instrumentalists; award winning keyboard player and a progressive rock master Clive Nolan, Andy Faulkner (Twelfth Night, Jump) on bass, Steve Harris (Ark, Paul Menel Band) on guitars and Dave Mackintosh (from Grammy nominated power metal band Dragon Force) on drums.
Produced and recorded at Thin Ice Studios, home for British Prog bands Pendragon and Arena, and mastered by Karl Groom.
